WALTR Original easily transfers Apple’s unsupported files such as MKV & AVI or the classic MOV, MP4 for natural playback on iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.Īlso, it pushes Music in any format, such as MP3, FLAC, APE, ALAC, M4R, AAC, AIFF, WAV, and even WMA, CUE, OGG, WV & TTA. When it comes to media pushing, it’s packed with a bunch of useful features. Therefore, Softorino has decided to create the most efficient & effortless way of passing any media to any iDevice. This isn’t an easy task when you have to pass through: format barriers, iTunes sync, occasional errors - all created by Apple. The guys from Softorino knew that most of the people who are using iTunes, are doing it because they want to transfer some media content (movies, music, books, etc) from their Macs onto any iOS devices they possess. It is the only iTunes alternative that lets you simply drag & drop any music, video & ringtone regardless of its format to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch without iTunes. The very 1st app in the world that could simply transfer any file (regardless of its format) onto an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from macOS by just dragging-n-dropping it was - WALTR. This is the first generation of WALTR 2 & the entry price level app by Softorino. Price: Free Trial, $39.95.Compatible with: macOS & Windows. Honestly, I do not believe that you will ever look at iTunes again after using this snappy app. It is an essential app that will save you a lot of trouble, time & nerves. The bottom line: if you are looking for the fastest & easiest way to get any media content from your computer onto any Apple mobile device (iOS or not) - WALTR 2 is the way to go. When you use WALTR 2 you get the job done & enjoy the whole process along the way. No conversions, iTunes hassle, crashes or any other inconveniences. You drag-and-drop any file you have on your computer (music, movie, ringtone, book) and it magically appears on your device. First off, it doesn’t really have any buttons, just a dropping area - and that’s it. Now this wonderful piece of software can transfer any PDF or ePUB file instantly onto your iOS device & have it ready for you to read it anytime.Īlso, I would really like to emphasize on the fact that WALTR 2 has a very beautiful & minimalistic interface, which most other iTunes alternatives simply lack. While using WALTR 2 all of your surrounding devices will be connected automatically for a wireless transfer of any files you have.Īnd last but not least is iBooks support. Secondly, automatic Wi-Fi frees you from the need to use cables when connecting your iOS device to your computer. The app automatically pulls up all this info, so you don’t have to do it manually beforehand. This technology allows WALTR 2 to fill up all the missing data (artwork, description, actors/singers, etc) for any file you transfer through it. So, here they are: ACR (Automatic Content Recognition), aWiFi (automatic Wi-Fi) & iBooks (PDF & ePUB) support. The whole team spent a big chunk of time & energy to make it possible. WALTR 2 comes with a few very vital improvements on board. This means that it’s no longer limited to iOS devices, it also supports every single Apple mobile device - starting with the original iPod dated 2001.īut this isn’t the only thing that’s new. Today WALTR isn’t just a drag-and-drop pushing app, it’s a magic drop area for your Apple device. It has everything that WALTR does, except - it offers way more fascinating & useful features now! Basically, it’s a totally different product. WALTR 2 is the next generation of the highly-acclaimed WALTR Original (read below). That’s how we’ve come up with our simple & powerful drag-n-drop approach and totally blew up the whole industry.ĭrag-and-Drop Pusher - iTunes Alternative WALTR 2 Most of them, though, instead of focusing on building the same overloaded iTunes alternative, decided to focus on the most important features and leave all the extra stuff behind. The question is: why doesn’t Apple work on it, makes it better? Do they wanna miss out on a pretty big number of people out there?īecause of this suckish experience that iTunes provides, a lot of 3rd party developers saw that there is a huge gap they can fill. What’s more, a lot of studies state that iTunes is one of the biggest drawbacks in switching from Android to iOS. It’s pretty much the same as exist, but not actually live for any human being. It can be “usable”, but certainly not enjoyable. Honestly, I’ve never met a person who actually likes it. The hands are a pretty tight fit, but popping them out isn't too hard. Zak and Dask get three sets of hands - open, gripping, and closed - and Kala also gets open and closed hands, but instead of a left grip, she gets a peace-sign right. Since this is a $75 three-pack, expect a good chunk of accessories to be included. Since these are small figures, I'd treat the joints with care, though I haven't had too much issues with them. The knees are pretty tight, so be mindful of that. There's also a ball-jointed chest, ball-socket hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and swivel/hinge ankles. The swivel/hinge joints at the shoulders, elbows, and wrists are nice, and I was surprised by how well the wrists moved, but the elbows are a little tight, and the boys don't have much bend in theirs due to the sleeves. The ball-jointed head and neck combo allows them to look all around, but Zak's neck doesn't want to move all that much. There are a few fuzzy edges, though, and the hands aren't all that perfect, either.Īll three teens have the same points of articulation, allowing for plenty of poses to be taken. The paint work is really nice as well, down to even giving Zak painted and sculpted eyes under his glasses. The height is slightly varied on each figure, but all stand around the 5 1/4" mark. I'm impressed by how well Zak's hair was replicated. Everyone is really spot-on, from the funky clothes to out-of-this-world hairstyles. Now that that's out of the way, all three figures are sculpted by Paul Harding, who's been doing a lot of Turtle stuff recently. My wish was granted a few months ago when they became the toon line's first three-pack.īefore we get on with this review, I just want to clarify: Zak is the blue one, Dask is the yellow one, and Kala is the green one. Still, they were pretty important in the five-episode pilot season and continued to pop up from time to time, and that's why I wanted them to get the NECA treatment. Sure, they had cool designs, but their annoying voices and lingo were off-putting to me. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Classic Cartoon (Neca)I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the Neutrinos from the TMNT cartoon. The harsh New England winter was not easy on either plane chassis, and we found that concrete or hard floor landings will break propellers nine out of ten times. It's strongly recommended that any Powerup 4.0 plane is flown in an outdoor location with suitably clear weather and grassy ground. We tested the "Invader" and "F22 Raptor" models using the Powerup 4.0 module. With only four menus, it allows you to switch between planes to adjust the gyro, fly the planes, look over flight statistics, and even fine-tune controls to your preference. These features are nicely enhanced by the Powerup4 app, available on both iOS and Android. We find that the gyro accelerometer and data analytics built into the computer contribute to the high-drain, slow-charge nature of the 4.0, but is worth it for the smart-plane quality. The lithium polymer battery does take thirty minutes to charge, which can be off-putting for those excited to fly, but it can be easy to charge on the go with portable batteries and a micro-USB charger. Maintaining 30%-50% power in flight is recommended for a beginner flight. As for battery, the claimed ten minutes of flight time can go down quickly if you're not careful with the throttle. With a Bluetooth range of 240 feet, we never found the plane faltering during flight, and the additional Bluetooth strength indicator on the app helps check your connection mid-flight. The rubber nose of the module helps product the computer and battery, and the carbon-fiber material makes it durable overall for many flights and crashes. So, be careful with handling before takeoff. We found this to be a sensible specification, as propellers at full speed can cut you, which we unfortunately demonstrated. The motors on the main module are impressive, and the full-throttle speed is claimed to be 20mph. Each separate plane design comes with a QR code that points to a video tutorial on putting it together, each of which has beginner friendly and concise directions. Out of the box you get the main module, a charging cable, four plane templates, a support crossbar, a spare propeller set, trim card, and user guide. This gives free rein to hobbyists who wish to try designs made for Powerup, or make their own. Powered by twin motors and controlled through smartphone via Bluetooth, Powerup 4.0 can attach itself to paper, light balsa wood, and foam hobby planes under 20 grams to enable powered flight. Soundblaster has Optical In and Out ALC1150 Purity Optical Out onlyĪll in all at this point the sound blaster is winning especially for gaming. There are some key differences though, but most people will never be able to tell the difference like SNR, and anyhow those numbers provided are only paper. Now to the funny thing I just realized while looking up a few of the specs this morning, is that Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel had some part in the recon3d.and yeah you guessed it my motherboard. ( ALC1150 Purity support headphone amp is only front audio port.) They both support studio quality headphones and headsets of up to 600ohm impedance with built in seperate head phone amps. So I am withholding judgment on headset sound, until I can afford one (on disability). I can't test with a headset right now, as my gaming headset got broke when I moved 8 months ago and I have not been able to afford to replace it. Granted the recon3d is really gaming card and has a number of unique options that the ALC1150 does not have. I would be interested to hear the difference with a headset though. Note all the testing was done at defaults and flat eq as it should be. IT does not have as strong as bass but the clarity on the mids and uppers is superior. The ALC 1150 purity sounds is good too, and would serve most everyday users as far as sound. Mids and highs do not get lost and heard and are richer. In General the recon3d has a more powerful sound. Preliminary testing, the Recon3d trounces Purity sound. Lauryn Hill, Ryan Toby, Devin Kamin & Ron Johnson (Sister Act) Volume controls in windows and the speakers remained the same. ( Well one at a time)ĪMD HD 7770 X2 ( Crossfired note no USB Filter driver installed and GPU card audio disabled)Ģ0 Gigs Ram ( yeah I know mix and matched at 1600 something)Īll defaults for both Realtek and Soundblaster control panels. I installed the Soundblaster Recon3d Pro into my system and running both the Realtek ALC 1150 Purity sound and Soundblaster side by side. So the question is should I use the ALC 1150 or the Soundblaster Recon? I have unlocked the Dolby Home Theater in the ALC 1150 Onboard or I have THX on the soundblaster.Īlrighty then, I have started testing both. Yes this was a budget build as I am on disability so have to plan wisely. Used for online gaming, home music, and movies. CPU FX 8120 mild OC to 4400 Ghz, 20 Gigs ddr3 1600 ram (13 gig for ramdrive)(mixed ram 2x8 and 2x2 dual channel), Windows 8.1 update 1, AMD HD 7770 x 2 (factory OC) Not sure if this information is needed or not. Another issue recently arose so I got this motherboard. I had bought a soundblaster REcon 3d Pro in old motherboard when the sound went out as I did not want to do yet another motherboard RMA at the time. It has the Realtek ALC1150 with purity sound (marketing hype I am sure, the purity sound but it does sound a lot better then my old sabertooth 990fx r2.0 when the sound worked). Well I guess you need to know the mother.I had to replace my motherboard recently and got ASrock Fatil1ty 990fx Killer. If your device has one of these plugs and you can adapt it to the others, you have 90% of the world covered. The "British" (Type G) plug, with three rectangular pins. The "European" (Type C or F) plug, with two round pins. The "American" & "Japanese" (Type A or B) plug, with two vertical pins. The three most widespread standards are the following: Unfortunately, there are many different plugs in the world. You stick your British plug in the adapter, which connects the rectangular phase/live and neutral prongs to the round German ones and puts the ground where the German outlet expects it. For example, between Britain and Germany, you need only an adapter. Map of the world coloured by type of plug usedĪ device that lets you insert a plug into a different socket is an adapter: these are small, cheap and safe. An overview of power sockets and powerplugs used around the world can be found at World Power Plugs Plugs and adapters Most travel accessory sources offer them and come with several plug adapters to solve all but the most exotic needs. If the voltage provided by the local supply is not within the range accepted by your device, then you will need a transformer or converter to convert the voltage. (The small difference between 110V and 120V is within the tolerances of most electrical devices. If the voltage and frequency for your device is the same as where you are travelling, then you need to worry only about the physical plug. Be aware of multiphase electrical systems (see below under Large Appliance Power). Be extra careful each time you travel to a new destination within these countries, and ask about the voltage. A few other countries using 60 Hz are internally divided, with 100-127 volts in some locations, and 220-240 volts in others, such as in Brazil, Some areas in the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, there's 220-240 volts at 60 Hz, such as in South Korea, Peru, Philippines some states of Brazil and Guyana. Occasionally, you will find 100-127 volts at 50 Hz, such as in Tokyo, Madagascar, and some Caribbean islands. 220-240 volt, at 50 hertz frequency ( in general: the rest of the world, with some exceptions).100-127 volt, at 60 hertz frequency ( in general: North and Central Americas, Western Japan). There are only two main types of electric systems used around the world, with varying physical connections: If not, keep reading.ĭealing with electricity differences can be daunting, but it actually isn't too hard. If you've got both covered, you can skip to the next section. If it says something like " 100-240V, 50/60 Hz", it will work anywhere in the world with the right plugs. Start by taking a look at the back of the device you want to use. Map of the world coloured by voltage and frequency This would result in the recorded file having -3dB applied once. I would probably go about this by using FreeG on the master output while mixing then move it to the Bus channel you're going to record to disk through. Personally if I wanted to record to disk, I would try and make sure all of my output has the panlaw applied to it once, and once only. In Logic you need to be very careful when recording to disk in this way, as it's easy to apply panlaw twice, or just as dangerously monitor a signal that has had the panlaw applied twice, but then to export the file without this second panlaw application. When you simply Bounce to disk without this extra routing you will only be applying the panlaw once, which is correct.Īlso included in the zip file is what this would look like if you were to use Sonalksis FreeG to set the panlaw on the master fader only. Therefore if you are recording to disk through an Aux or bus channel then bouncing that recorded file out through the master outputs or even just listening through the master outputs you will be hearing an abnormally wide stereo image. Whereas if the signal is routed directly to the master outputs the panlaw is only applied once. This is then applied a second time when going out through the main Outputs 1-2. You'll see that while using Logic's own -3dB panlaw, a mono signal panned centrally routed through a stereo Aux has the panlaw is applied to it, so the centre signal is dropped by 3dB. Here's an explanation regarding what I was saying about applying -3dB Panlaw twice. Things like reverb are processed in real time and are different with each and every playback to it's very normal to hear a load of reverb when you do this, and when you do it doesn't mean things aren't canceling out. If they don't then there's some difference. If they cancel out completely then they are the SAME and there is nothing more to discuss. The simplest way to find out if there are any differences between a BTD and a RTD file is to open them both in Logic, and flip the phase of one while playing them alongside one another. But then I don't know if it will definitely work this way anyway as I cant quite remember (IT'S LATE!!) if Logic DOES apply the pan law like this. This is the only explanation I can think of. This will make it sound overly wide when compared to a bounced to disk file played back outside of Logic. As that file goes to the master fader, the same -3dB pan law is applied again. Then when you listen back to your mix, within logic. If you record through a Stereo Aux, the pan law of -3dB to the centre image is applied. Compare your 'Bounce' to your 'Export' and share your observations here. Make sure your bit depth is the same as it was for the Bounce.ĩ. Once the Audio is recorded to the new audio track, select the region and choose.File-Export-Region As Audio File. Record the output of the Aux, which will now contain your entire mix, to this new audio track.Ĩ. Create a new Stereo Audio track with the input set to Bus 42.ħ. Set the output of the Aux track to Bus 42.Ħ. If you were using any effects on your Stereo Bus for the Bounce, Option-Command-Drag them over to the new Aux track.ĥ. An Aux track receiving it's input from bus 41 will automatically be created.Ĥ. I'll use an arbitrary bus for example purposes.ģ. Set all of their outputs to be an unused bus. Using the same project, select all of the tracks in the Mixer. Be aware of it's bit depth as you will want to use the same setting when you export in a few steps.Ģ. It's best to try this on a few different types of material as your results may vary from project to project.ġ. Please try this if you haven't already and let me know YOUR results. Sometimes bigger and badder, sometimes semi-distorted. I've done this in Logic Pro 8 and get mixed results. This has been an age old trick to getting a better sounding mix out of many different DAW's. |
